I Love my Studio!
It’s the time of year that my husband, Sam and I host our Spring Open Studio and it’s so beautiful right now! Walking out to my studio to get some work done, I was struck by how much I love having my work space right behind my house.
I thought I’d give you all a tour of what it looks like normally, before I get it ready for Open Studio.
There are three separate spaces–the main/kiln room, the room with my wheel and shelves for drying and storage, and the teaching area.

This is what it looks like walking up to the front door

This is the heart of the studio. It holds so many things–the gas kiln for glaze firing, a plaster slab for reclaiming clay, a little slab roller on loan from my dear friend Delia, buckets of glaze and all the materials I use to mix the glazes, and a table for working.

Continuing through the main room, you come to the little end room that houses my wheel, the clay supply and a bunch of shelves. They’re pretty full right now with student work and my work for Open Studio.

Next to the front door is the door to the teaching room and inside are the tables and glaze samples.
I love my studio but, it sure could use a clean up! Everything will be cleaned, rearranged and looking great in time for our Spring Open Studio so, please come by and say hello! You’ll see a new batch of Sam’s beautiful landscapes and a bunch of my current work including pieces that I don’t sell in stores!

Looking forward to seeing you!
