Ahhh, Summer

I love the beginning of summer with warmer temperatures, kids out of school and foods like watermelon and corn on the cob. It has a different feeling to it than the rest of the year. The days are longer, the pace is slower and we spend more time outdoors.

In less than two weeks we’ll be spending the whole weekend outdoors at the Fairfax Festival! Our local festival is the unofficial start to summer in Fairfax. It may be local but it’s a fabulous weekend starting with a classic small town parade followed by lots of live music and things to do and see. But best of all, there are a bunch of us vendors with everything from tie died clothes, jewelry and birdhouses to fabulous paintings and ceramics!

We couldn’t make it last year because of my broken leg but we’re back this year with so much new work! My husband Sam will have a bunch of beautiful, new landscape paintings and I’ll have new pieces including butter dishes, coffee pour overs, berry bowls and of course MUGS!

Classes will be starting right after the festival and I think with the slower pace of summer, there will only be the regular Monday night class.  So, check my ‘Classes’ page for all the information and if you have a friend who might be interested, forward them this newsletter!
