Thanks Universe!
This morning I had a little reminder of the quiet, magical world before people wake up, before the scheduled day starts and before everything becomes familiar and usual.
There was a class firing to get started and I usually begin about 5:30 in the morning. It’s always dark when I go light the kiln and this morning was no exception. It’s been a few weeks since I’ve run a firing and somehow, it felt a little new.

It was so beautiful out. The sky was totally clear with a few planets visible. The moon was waning but very bright so I couldn’t see many stars. Two Great Horned owls were hooting back and forth and everything else was absolutely still and quiet. It was a little reminder that the real world carries on beautifully, regardless of all the strife and and drama that thrives in the media world.
It made me feel so grateful to be here in this bigger, older world. It seemed possible to set aside some of the feelings of obligation and constant rushing to fit everything in. It was just … a moment.

I wouldn’t have had this little moment if it hadn’t been for the ceramics part of my life. I love it. There are always challenges and because it can be difficult, it’s also rewarding. It requires doing repetitive work with your hands and that lets my brain run away on it’s own journey. So, even though it takes time-and I never feel like I have enough- it gives me experiences like this morning.
Believe it or not, we’re already well into November and during this time of year we often think of gratitude. I have so much to be thankful for this year!
It was a testing and difficult time when I broke my leg this past spring. So many people leapt up to help me in ways I couldn’t imagine and with all that help, I’m getting through it. Thank you, everyone!
My electric kiln died finally and the bank gave me a bigger limit on my credit card so I’ve ordered a new one and it will be coming in December! Thanks for that, Redwood Credit Union!
I launched my wholesale catalog, put together with my husband’s help and I keep getting orders. Thanks, my love!
The world is still full of quietness, hooting owls, rain with beautiful clouds, and spontaneous bits of magic and mystery. Thanks Universe!
