Thanks Community
Ah, the times we’re living in.
I find myself squeezed between anger at the rising situations and disbelief in our society.
And yet, we move forward, there is no stopping.
Even with everything that’s going on I’m still a happy person overall. A big part of that has been finding solace and happiness in community, both the one I live in and the one I make in.
Recently, we’ve had our annual summer festival for the first time in two years. As a vendor I was there for both days and it was great! It was so good to see and connect with people I haven’t seen since the pandemic began.
I’ve also started at our local Fairfax Farmers’ Market again. I’ve only been there for two weeks but, it’s very clear that people want connection. They’re stopping by and reacquainting themselves with me and my work and seeing my husband, Sam’s beautiful paintings for perhaps the first time.
My students are another wonderful and fulfilling part of my ceramics community. Even if I’m knackered by the time I get to teaching class, everyone’s enthusiasm and curiosity always brings me around. I always end up feeling better!
This feeling of being part of a community brings me comfort. There are still a lot of good people out there and that gives me hope for the future. Thank you all for being such a great part of my life. Let’s keep going–positivity makes as much difference in the world as negativity. We can do this, together!

Thank you for the love and hope Shoshana. I feel the same weight of the world as you and it is good to remind each other that it is okay, no it is mandatory, that we find and share joy through our individual and collective actions!
Thanks Suz, You’re part of what keeps me going!
