It’s Summertime!

When I was growing up in Montana, summertime was intertwined with our huge veggie garden. First it was planting and the dreaded weeding, and then the excitement of everything growing and finally the reward of the first veggies. Were we live now, I can plant in April instead of early June so my garden is already growing like crazy and I love it!

Besides the garden, our town festival signals the start of summer around here. Since my last class session just ended, I’m taking two weeks off to prepare for the Fairfax Festival.

I’m making a whole bunch of new work and I’m crazy to think I can get it done in two weeks! I should have new mugs-both bigger and smaller, tumblers, butter dishes, pitchers, big salad bowls, matcha bowls, little dishes, spoon rests and all the other work I already have in stock.

This is the first Fairfax Festival we’ve had in two years and I will be down in the redwood grove on the main green. The festival will be Saturday and Sunday June 11th and 12th from 11 to 6. I hope you’ll stop by and see my new work and enjoy all the summer fun!
