Getting Ready Again

IMG_0080

I can’t believe it’s been a year already, and it’s time for the Fairfax Holiday Craft Faire again!  Last year was the first time I’d participated in the Craft Faire and it was really fun to have so many people I know come by my booth to say ‘hi’ and see my work.  It was even more fun to talk with people I’d never met before and have them walk away with a piece that would connect us every time they used it.  As a maker, I love the idea that the pieces I’ve put my energy into and handbuilt with care, can connect me to the people who love them and use them every day.

Getting ready for a show is always interesting.  Since ceramics is a multi-staged process, the work is not finished until you’ve built it, bisque fired it, glazed it and fired it for the final time.  You don’t really know how your pieces will look until you open the final kiln load and see what you have for the show.

DECEMBER 12th from 11-5 at the PAVILION in downtown Fairfax

The work I have available this year will have an even broader scope than last year.  I’ve recently gotten excited about plates and platters so I will have a bunch of those to offer along with some bowls– including a set of Sea Urchin bowls.  And as usual I will have plenty of my one-of-a-kind art mugs!  Please stop by,  say ‘hi’, and see my latest work 🙂
