Endless Possibilities
Ceramics is a continuous journey. There’s so much to try out, experiment with and learn! Pieces are finished and evaluated and that leads you on to the next set of questions and pieces. There are quite literally endless possibilities and opportunities.
There are a lot of things finishing around here and also new things starting. One big project that is finally finished–the glaze wall! I have to say, it’s pretty impressive. There are sample tiles of all the glazes on three different types of clay and at two firing temperatures plus a bunch of glaze combos. Special thanks on that one to all my students in the glaze class and especially to Barbara Ryerson who did a fantastic job creating the structure for the whole thing.
A few tiles broke in the process and I need to correct a couple of name tags, but there’s lots to look at and plenty of room for more tests!
It’s the beginning of summer and that means it’s already time for the Fairfax Festival!
My husband, Sam Parry, and I will be sharing a booth so, you’ll have twice as much art to look at! I hope you’ll stop by and see our new work. We’ll be in the Arts and Crafts section in the redwoods near the main stage.
Meanwhile this class session is finishing and another one will start a little later in June. Look on my Events and Classes page for all the information and sign up early if you’re interested!
Enjoy all the possibilities of things wrapping up and new things starting this summer!
