Here’s a sneak peak at the results from the glaze firing. There’s sooo much to do–I’ve set myself a goal of making 60 completed objects in 120 days including glazing and firing so I’d better get back to work!

Glaze Firing Day
I’m running my second glaze firing in two weeks and it’s great to be in the studio so much. My goal is to make 60 objects in 120 days including glazing and firing, and production is coming right along. The funny thing is although I have all day in the studio, it’s hard to concentrate on building or glazing. The lesson must be to schedule OTHER studio tasks on firing days. Hope everything turns out!
I like to make things
Sometimes it’s a sculpture–and that’s freedom. Freedom to make something that meets only my aesthetic requirements. Freedom to explore an idea and change my mind and to respond to the thing I’m making. Freedom to follow the process, see where it takes me and feel the joy. Sometimes it’s a useful object–and that’s love. To make and object for someone else–a cup, a bowl, a plate–is to give them pleasure in eating, and happiness and love along with their food.
